OBJ, Abdulsalami, Gusau hold strategic meeting with IBB in Minna
On Sunday, September 15, 2024, former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo, former Head of State General Abdulsalami Abubakar, and General Aliyu Gusau visited ex-Military President Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida (IBB) at his Hill Top residence in Minna, Niger State.
The high-profile meeting took place after Obasanjo arrived at Minna International Airport around 4:30 pm in a Gulfstream aircraft and was promptly escorted to Babangida’s home, where Abdulsalami and Gusau were already present. The four elder statesmen held a closed-door meeting that lasted about an hour. Obasanjo reportedly left Minna at around 6:20 pm.

Although details of the discussions were not disclosed, sources suggest the meeting addressed critical national issues, including Nigeria’s ongoing economic challenges and the hardships facing citizens.
“The meeting might be connected with pressing national issues, especially the current hardships faced by Nigerians, but I am not confirming exactly what was discussed,” a source stated.
This high-level gathering highlights the concerns of Nigeria’s elder leaders about the nation’s socio-economic situation, as citizens continue to struggle with inflation, fuel prices, and other economic pressures.
