PDP summons Wike over alleged anti-party activities

The leadership of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has summoned the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, to appear before its disciplinary committee over alleged anti-party activities.

The Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Ibrahim Abdullahi confirmed this development on Monday, September 2.

Abdullahi revealed that Wike, who previously served as the Governor of Rivers State, has been issued a letter requesting his appearance before the committee.

The summons follows controversial remarks made by Wike, where he referenced “putting fire in their states,” which was perceived as a threat directed at PDP governors.

Abdullahi criticised Wike’s comments, describing them as “very disappointing” and not representative of the party’s stance.

He emphasised that the PDP does not condone such statements and expects Wike to manage his words more carefully.

The party’s leadership is reportedly concerned about the potential impact of Wike’s actions and statements on party unity and discipline.
