The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has won all 260 political ward councillorship seats in the 17 Local Government Areas of Enugu State.
While the All Progressives Congress (APC) won all the 23 chairmanship positions in Sokoto State in the last Saturday local government election conducted in the state.
APC also won all the councillorship positions in the 23 local government areas.
Prof. Christian Ngwu, the Chairman of the Enugu State Independent Electoral Commission (ENSIEC), while declaring results on Monday in Enugu, said the commission delayed the announcement of the councillorship election results because it was scrutinising them.
ENSIEC had earlier on Sunday declared the PDP winner of all the 17 Chairmanship positions in the state.

Ngwu, also the returning officer for the polls, said that ENSIEC carefully collated and analysed the results to ensure no mistakes or infractions to the electoral law.
“PDP won all 260 ward councillorship positions within the 260 political wards in the state.
“The election was duly conducted and it was most peaceful, fair, free and credible.
“ENSIEC ensured a level playing field for all 17 political parties that participated in the polls held on Saturday.
“Full details of the councillorship election will come out and be made known to the public subsequently,” he said.
According to him, a Certificate of Return will soon be issued by the commission to the winners of the chairmanship and councillorship positions.
The chairman said there was no substantial record of violence during the polls on Saturday.
Similarly, chairman of the Sokoto State Independent Electoral Commission, Alhaji Aliyu Suleiman, said 15 political parties participated in the elections with the exception of the main opposition party in the state, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Immediately after the declaration, the winners were issued certificates of return by the chairman of the commission.
