Police in Bauchi arrest 5 suspects over armed robbery, murder (pictures)

Bauchi State Police Command has arrested five suspects for alleged armed robbery and culpable homicide.
In a statement sent to newsmen in Bauchi by SP Ahmed Muhammad Wakil, Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), the operatives of the command arrested the three suspects involved in an audacious armed robbery in Misau Local Government Area of the State.
Wakil gave the names of the three suspects arrested in Misau as Ahmad Musa, alias Abba Yausa ‘m’ aged 20yrs; Tijjani Abdullahi, alias T.J ‘m’ aged 20yrs, and Danladi Aliyu (aka Uban Daba) ‘m’ aged 30yrs.
He said their alleged crimes include criminal conspiracy, housebreaking and armed robbery.

Wakil said, “Sometime in July 2024, at about 2:30 hours, the suspects along with four others, namely Ismail Kawuwa, Sadiq Kange, Adamu Dan Kamfani, and Attahir (still at large), conspired and unlawfully trespassed the residence of Malumi in Misau LGA, Bauchi State.
“Armed with locally made pistols and seven rounds of live ammunition, they robbed Malumi of ₦250,000, three handheld phones, and an unspecified quantity of recharge cards from various networks.
“Ahmad Musa was apprehended by the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) with a fabricated pistol and seven rounds of live ammunition.
“Upon interrogation, the suspects confessed to their involvement in the crime.
“The Commissioner of Police, CP Auwal Musa Muhammad, has directed the Commanding Officer, CSP Sani Mohammed (O/C RRS), to transfer the case to the State Criminal Investigation Department for a thorough investigation.
“Upon completion, the suspects will be profiled and prosecuted for the crimes they have committed,” he said.
He said the command is working tirelessly to apprehend the remaining fugitives.
“Members of the public with information on their whereabouts are urged to contact the nearby police station,” he said.
In another development, Wakil said the command has successfully apprehended two suspects involved in the gruesome murder of Adamu Alkasim ‘m’, 18yrs, of Kofar Dumi in Bauchi.
He said, “The incident happened in the Bayan Gari area of Bauchi and the suspects are Usman Shehu (alias Babayaro) ‘m’ aged 20yrs, and Abdullahi Abubakar (alias Ababa) ‘m’ aged 19yrs, accused with criminal conspiracy and culpable homicide.
Wakil said, “Usman Shehu conspired with four others to attack one Adamu, resulting in his death.
“Upon receiving the report, Commissioner of Police, CP Muhammad, ordered a discreet investigation, leading to the arrest of Usman Shehu and Abdullahi Abubakar.
He said upon completion of ongoing investigation, the suspects will be profiled and charged to court.
The statement revealed that the command is working to arrest all remaining suspects and urged members of the public with information on their whereabouts to contact the police.
“The Bauchi State Police Command warns that violence and crime will not be tolerated in the state. We will continue to work diligently to ensure justice and safety for all citizens,” the statement said.
