Rodri out for the season as Man-City midfielder suffers ACL injury

Manchester City midfielder Rodri has been ruled out for the remainder of the season after suffering an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury, manager Pep Guardiola confirmed on Friday.

The Spanish international sustained the injury during City’s 2-2 draw with Arsenal in the Premier League last Sunday.

Guardiola provided an update on Rodri’s condition, saying, “He had surgery this morning. It was an ACL and some meniscus, so this season is over for him.”

The injury is a major setback for the defending champions as they chase a fifth consecutive Premier League title and another Champions League triumph.

Rodri, 28, has been instrumental in City’s success, with a 74.1% win rate when he plays. However, Guardiola remained optimistic, stating that City’s squad, despite injuries to key players like Rodri, Kevin De Bruyne, and Nathan Ake, will rise to the challenge.
