Security operatives recover explosives, dangerous materials at Anambra criminal camp

Joint security operatives in Imo State have uncovered a criminal hideout in Ihiala, Anambra State, where dangerous materials, including three  improvised explosives, abandoned vehicles, and other incriminating items, were recovered.

The operation, carried out based on security intelligence gathered over time, led to the recovery of these items in the Lilu, Mbosi, and Isseke areas of Ihiala.

A statement released by SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the Police Public Relations Officer of the Anambra State Police Command, revealed that alongside the explosives, other materials such as copper wires, fuel, and dangerous items were found at the camp.

The Commissioner of Police in Anambra State, CP Nnaghe Obono Itam, urged security operatives to sustain the momentum of the operation. He assured the citizens that the police and other security agencies remain committed to dominating and denying criminal elements any space to operate in the state.

“We are focused on ensuring the safety of Anambra residents and will continue our efforts to dismantle these criminal networks,” CP Itam stated.

This discovery marks another significant step in the ongoing crackdown on crime in the region. The authorities have vowed to continue the fight against crime and restore peace to the state.
