State Gov. donates ₦50 million, speedboats to aid Borno flood victims

Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State has donated ₦50 million and six speedboats to assist victims of the recent flooding in Borno State.

During a visit to Maiduguri on Thursday, Governor Fintiri presented the donation to his Borno counterpart, Governor Babagana Zulum, and called for additional support for the affected communities.

In a statement issued by Chief Press Secretary Humwashi Wonosikou, Governor Fintiri expressed his sorrow over the loss of lives and property due to the flooding. He urged the federal government to take swift action to address the disaster.

Alongside Governor Zulum and Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State, Fintiri toured the flooded areas via boat to assess the damage and offer sympathy to displaced residents.

The flooding in Maiduguri was attributed to a broken spillway from the Alau Dam, which caused widespread destruction in the area.

Governor Fintiri was accompanied by key members of his administration, including Secretary to the State Government Awwal Tukur and members of the State Executive Council, as well as close associates.
