US to pay Iran $4bn as compensation for 2009 terror attack

The Iranian court has rule that the United States must pay over four billion dollars in damages for its involvement in the 2009 terrorist attack in Sistan and Baluchestan sheds light on the country’s long-standing accusation of the US supporting terrorism in Iran.

The attack, carried out by the Jundallah terrorist group led by Abdolmalek Rigi, resulted in the deaths of more than 45 people and injuries to 57 others.

The court determined that the terrorist outfit was created and financed by the American government, with all of its actions approved and ordered by US officials.

Furthermore, the court highlighted that Rigi, the leader of the terrorist group, was arrested while heading to an American base in Central Asia and provided evidence that the group was under the control of the US government and received significant support in terms of finance, logistics, military training, and other resources.

This revelation underscores the court’s conclusion that the US government has a history of creating and supporting terrorist groups around the world, with Daesh being a notable example.

The ruling also emphasised that the US government continues to support terrorist organisations that operate against the Iranian people, with the ultimate goal of destabilising and exploiting the country.

The court’s verdict is a strong condemnation of the US’s backing of terrorism and its hostile intentions towards the Iranian people.

Sistan and Baluchestan, as a border region neighboring Pakistan and Afghanistan, has been targeted by numerous terrorist attacks in the past, with Iran’s security forces successfully repelling most of these assaults.

The court’s decision serves as a reminder of the ongoing threats posed by foreign-backed terrorist groups in the region and the need for continued vigilance and security measures to protect civilians and maintain stability.
