‘Warrior’ Joshua vows to continue despite crushing defeat to Dubois
Anthony Joshua has vowed to continue his boxing career despite suffering a brutal defeat at the hands of fellow Briton Daniel Dubois in their IBF heavyweight title fight at Wembley. Joshua, who was knocked down four times before a fifth-round knockout, now faces questions about his future, but the 34-year-old former Olympic champion remains determined.
“We took a shot and came up short. But we’re not running away. I’m a warrior, and I’ll live to fight another day,” Joshua said after the fight, though he declined to take further questions at the post-fight press conference.
Dubois’ victory in front of a record-breaking 98,000 fans marks Joshua’s fourth career loss, denying him the chance to join the ranks of legends like Muhammad Ali and Lennox Lewis by becoming a three-time world heavyweight champion.

Eddie Hearn, Joshua’s promoter, remains optimistic about his fighter’s future, hinting at potential rematches against Dubois or even an all-British clash with Tyson Fury. “2025 will be an interesting year for Anthony Joshua. He will definitely be back,” Hearn assured.
Meanwhile, Dubois, now 27, is eyeing a rematch with Oleksandr Usyk as he sets his sights on unifying the heavyweight division. “This is just the start of my journey. I want my rematch with Usyk to put things right,” Dubois declared.
The boxing world now watches closely as both fighters plot their next moves in a division packed with talent and high-stakes bouts.
