Why man killed woman, son, dumped bodies inside trash can – Police

The Lagos State Police Command has detained a man for allegedly killing his neighbour and her son over an environmental sanitation dispute in the Lekki area of the state.

The command spokesman, Benjamin Hundeyin, made this known to newsmen on 16th September in Lagos State.

Hundeyin said the incident happened on 15th September at about 10:50pm and investigation was ongoing to ascertain what the suspect used to perpetrate the crime.

He further added that information was received at the Elemoro Police Division that the suspect allegedly killed one Gloria, who was his neighbour, and her son, over an argument on the cleaning of the environment.

The command spokesman alleged that the suspect put their dead bodies in a big sack to dispose of them.

He said that luck ran against him when other neighbours informed the police at Elemoro Division of the incident.

“Immediately, detectives of the Division rushed to the scene, arrested the suspect and recovered the bodies,” Hundeyin said.

The command spokesman said the bodies have been deposited at the Epe General Hospital mortuary for autopsy and preservation.

According to Hundeyin, police detectives are investigating the incident.
