Woman collapses, dies while testifying at church
A woman has been pronounced dead after collapsing in a church in Lagos State.
According to reports reaching journalists, the woman, identified as Ifeoma, 55, had gone to the front of the church to give her testimony. Just as she was about to begin, she collapsed. The incident occurred around 8:48 a.m. during a Sunday service on September 8, 2024, at the Ministry Church in the Ejigbo area of Lagos State.
Confirming the incident, the police spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin, said the woman was rushed to a hospital where she was pronounced dead.
He stated, “The Zonal Accountant of the church in Ejigbo reported at the station that during testimony hour, while the service was ongoing, Ifeoma came out singing songs to give her testimony when she suddenly collapsed. She was quickly taken to a nearby hospital but was later referred to the General Hospital in Isolo, where she was confirmed dead.
According to the report, detectives were assigned to visit the hospital with the complainant. Upon arrival, they were informed that the deceased’s husband and family had already taken the body to Anambra State, her place of origin, for burial.”
