Zamfara vigilante kills Turji’s accomplice, Kachalla Sani-Black, sons
Notorious bandit leader Kachalla Sani Black has been eliminated by the Zamfara State Community Protection Guards (CPG).
According to a report, local police killed Kachalla and two of his sons in an ambush operation in Magama Mai Rake, Maru Local Government Area.
The report further stated that the vigilante group recovered two AK-47 rifles, an undisclosed amount of cash, and a PKT machine gun during the operation.
Kachalla Sani-Black, a prominent rival of Bello Turji in banditry, was a notorious leader operating in the Chabi and Dan Sadau areas of Maru Local Government Area.

The deceased was infamous for terrorizing communities and commuters across Northern Zamfara, with his gang conducting attacks in Kaduna, Niger, and Kebbi States.
At one point, no other bandit leader matched Kachalla Sani Black’s influence in Dan Sadau. He commanded over 150 armed followers and was notorious for leading deadly attacks in Maru, Gusau, Tsafe, and other local government areas in Zamfara State.
Sani Black also trained some of his recruits in abductions and sexual violence against women. In 2021, police arrested one of his gang members, Sani Mati Mai-Yanmata, who specialized in kidnapping and assaulting female victims, including young girls and pregnant women, in Shinkafi, Zurmi, and Birnin Magaji Local Government Areas.
At that time, Zamfara Police Commissioner CP Ayuba Elkanah revealed that Mai-Yanmata was apprehended while attempting to block a highway near Koliya, intending to unleash chaos on commuters and abduct innocent citizens.
