Girl-child education as a cornerstone for societal progress, by Hassan Bomoi Joda

The importance of girl-child education in our society cannot be overstated. Educating girls not only empowers them to reach their full potential but also drives economic growth, reduces poverty, and improves health outcomes for communities.

When girls receive quality education, they gain the skills and confidence needed to contribute meaningfully to society, participate in decision-making, and break the cycle of generational poverty. In contrast, the widespread issue of girl-child street hawking poses significant risks to both individuals and society.

It deprives young girls of their right to education, exposes them to exploitation, and perpetuates socio-economic inequality, thereby undermining efforts towards sustainable development.

JFES Reenrolls 10 Girls Back to School, Supporting Their Education Journey

In a remarkable effort to combat the issue of girl-child street hawking and promote inclusive education, the Joda Foundation for Educational Supports (JFES) has successfully reenrolled 10 girls back to school. The girls had previously dropped out due to financial difficulties and turned to street hawking to support their families.

Under the leadership of the Executive Director, Mr. Hassan Bomai Joda, JFES took swift action to cover all necessary school dues, allowing the girls to continue their education without financial burden.

Furthermore, the foundation provided essential educational materials, including school bags and books, to ensure the girls have the tools needed for a successful learning experience.

“This initiative is part of our commitment to empowering young girls and reducing the obstacles that hinder their educational attainment,” Mr. Joda stated.

He emphasised that by supporting these girls, JFES is not only improving individual lives but also contributing to a brighter future for the community.

JFES remains dedicated to supporting education for underprivileged children, focusing on eliminating barriers to access and ensuring that every child, regardless of background, has the opportunity to succeed in life. This latest initiative highlights the foundation’s ongoing mission to make education accessible and to advocate for the rights of the girl-child.

Hassan Bomoi Joda is the Executive Director of JFES.
