25-year-old man stabs father to death
A 25-year-old man, Chibunnma Chimelie, has been arrested by the Lagos State Police Command for allegedly stabbing his 68-year-old father to death during a heated argument at their home in Isolo, Lagos.
Confirming the incident, the command’s spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, revealed that the tragic event occurred on Thursday night around 10:00 p.m. Chimelie reportedly got into a dispute with his father, which escalated into violence, leading to the fatal stabbing.
The victim’s other son, who resides separately, was informed of the incident by a neighbor.
He rushed to the family home, only to find his father lying in a pool of blood. The police were immediately alerted, and officers from the Aswani Police Division quickly responded to the scene.

“The investigators recovered a knife, stained with blood, near the body. The victim was then rushed to the General Hospital in Isolo, where medical personnel pronounced him dead,” said Hundeyin.
He further confirmed that the body has since been deposited in the mortuary at the same hospital.
The police spokesperson added that the suspect, Chibunnma, has confessed to committing the crime.
“The suspect is currently in custody, and investigations are ongoing to uncover the full details and circumstances that led to this tragic event,” Hundeyin stated.
