CGC Adeniyi pledges stronger ties with NAGAFF to boost trade (Pictures)

The Comptroller-General of Customs (CGC), Adewale Adeniyi, warmly welcomed a delegation from the National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF) on 29 October 2024 at the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) Headquarters in Abuja.

The delegation, led by NAGAFF’s National President, High Chief Tochukwu Ezisi, visited to discuss ongoing collaborative efforts and future opportunities.

During the meeting, CGC Adeniyi expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership with NAGAFF and emphasised the importance of continued cooperation. “These are all possibilities, and we will be willing to work with you,” Adeniyi stated, underscoring the Customs Service’s commitment to enhancing trade facilitation and promoting seamless operations.

The Customs Chief commended NAGAFF’s dedication to fostering mutual interests and enhancing collaborative initiatives. He shared updates on the Nigeria Customs Service’s new transformative projects focused on trade facilitation, border security, and advanced technology integration, aimed at elevating the nation’s customs operations.

In a gesture of goodwill, CGC Adeniyi accepted NAGAFF’s invitation to their upcoming Silver Jubilee Anniversary, recognising the association’s invaluable contributions to customs operations over the last 25 years.

Chief Tochukwu Ezisi, NAGAFF’s National President, applauded CGC Adeniyi’s impactful contributions since taking office, especially in national economic growth and security. “Your remarkable achievements since assuming office cannot be overstated,” Ezisi remarked. He also highlighted NAGAFF’s upcoming Silver Jubilee Anniversary and formally invited the CGC to attend as a special guest.

Ezisi further assured the CGC of NAGAFF’s full support in the forthcoming CGC Conference, which will include unveiling their newly acquired N500 million Secretariat, reflecting NAGAFF’s growth and enduring partnership with the Nigeria Customs Service.

The NAGAFF delegation also included key officials, such as Chief Afam Chukwuma, Deputy National President (Seaport) and Chairman of the Silver Jubilee Organising Committee; Igwe Kingsley, National Secretary; Princess Chi Eze, National Vice President (Western Port); and Melody Obehi, National Treasurer, among others.
