Court grants ex-Taraba governor bail

Former Taraba State governor Darius Ishaku has been granted bail of N150 million by a Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court on Thursday.

This decision comes amid allegations of a N27 billion fraud charge brought against him by the Federal Government.

Justice Sylvanus Oriji approved the bail, requiring two sureties for the same amount. One of the sureties must hold a position as a Federal Government employee at the Director level.

Additionally, both sureties are required to reside in the FCT, with their residential addresses to be verified by the court’s Registrar.

Furthermore, Justice Oriji has placed restrictions on Ishaku and his co-defendant, Bello Hero, prohibiting them from traveling outside the country without prior permission from the court.
