Deadly clashes erupt between farmers, herders
Several reported killed in clash between herders and farmers in Kukta, Adamawa State.
The incident took place Sunday morning in Waltandi District of the Song Local Government Area, following a conflict that has been escalating for several days.
The situation escalated when herders launched attacks on several households, leading to the deaths of five individuals.
Community members alleged that many were killed in the retaliatory attacks, but newsmen could not verify these claims.
In response to the incident, authorities have dispatched security forces to the affected area to restore normalcy and maintain order.
The state police command confirmed that personnel have been deployed to apprehend those responsible for the violence.
Commissioner of Police Dankombo Morris has directed the Homicide section of the State CID in Yola to conduct a thorough investigation into the alleged clash.
