Defence Minister orders immediate capture of notorious bandit leader, Turji

The Minister of Defence, Badaru Abubakar, has directed the troops of Operation Fansar Yamma to swiftly apprehend the notorious bandit leader, Turji.

The order comes as Abubakar addresses the troops at the One Brigade Headquarters in Gusau, the capital of Zamfara State, during his visit to receive briefings on ongoing military operations.

In his address, Abubakar notes that President Bola Tinubu is pleased with the progress made by the military in combating banditry over recent months.

He acknowledges the improvements in operations against terrorists but also emphasizes that challenges persist, as bandits continue to instill fear in local communities.

“The President has recognized some level of improvement in the operation against terrorists in the region,” Abubakar states. He conveys the President’s commitment to providing all necessary support to the military’s efforts, urging the troops to intensify their operations.

“President Tinubu has asked me to thank you and encourage you to do more in ending insecurity in these operational areas. He is ready to supply everything you need to eliminate insecurity in the northwest and across Nigeria,” he adds.

With urgency in his voice, the minister asks the troops, “Are you ready to finish them off? Are you ready to end banditry in this country? Please get me Turji, dead or alive.”

Abubakar is received by Major General Oluyinka Soyele, the Commander of the Joint Task Force Northwest Operation Fansar Yamma, and Malam Mani Mummun, the Deputy Governor of Zamfara State, during his visit. The call for action reflects ongoing efforts to address the persistent issue of banditry affecting the region.
