Israeli strikes hit dozens of locations in Southern Lebanon – Report

Israeli airstrikes targeted dozens of villages and towns in southern Lebanon overnight, with the city of Nabatiyeh hit for the third time this week, according to Lebanese state media.

The strikes included bombings on an inhabited building in Nabatiyeh, where rescue teams are still searching for survivors trapped under the rubble. Nabatiyeh had previously experienced deadly Israeli strikes, with the city’s mayor killed during attacks earlier in the week and its marketplace devastated last week.

In addition to Nabatiyeh, Israeli jets reportedly bombed over 50 other towns and villages, including Kfarshuba, Bint Jbeil, and Khiam—locations near the border with Israel that have seen heavy fighting. The strikes also caused destruction in the border village of Mais al-Jabal, where Israeli troops blew up the Tarrash neighborhood after reportedly planting high explosives. Israeli forces also bulldozed the cemetery in the nearby village of Blida, according to reports.

Lebanon’s National News Agency (NNA) detailed how Israeli forces have been conducting these airstrikes as the war intensifies. The attacks follow Hezbollah’s ongoing cross-border clashes with Israeli soldiers.

Meanwhile, Israel also targeted several southern Beirut neighborhoods on Sunday, focusing on Hezbollah’s strongholds after the Israeli army issued warnings to civilians to evacuate. This follows Israel’s broader air campaign launched last month, which has led to severe destruction and rising death tolls across Lebanon.

The conflict has resulted in at least 1,454 deaths in Lebanon so far, according to official Lebanese health ministry figures. However, the actual toll is believed to be even higher as fighting continues to escalate in the region.

The situation remains dire, with further military operations and casualties expected in the days to come.
