Mourinho sees red as Fenerbahce hold Man Utd to 1-1 draw

Manchester United are yet to win in the Europa League after three fixtures. Erik Ten Hag’s played out yet another draw in the competition, with their game against Fenerbahce ending 1-1 in Turkey.

Christian Eriksen opened the scoring in the 15th minute with a strike from just outside the box.

However, the Red Devils were pegged back by Youssef En Neysri’s header just after the break.

The game saw former United manager Jose Mourinho sent off for protesting a penalty decision that involved Super Eagles defender, Bright Osayi-Samuel.

Mourinho mocked the “incredible” explanation of the referee after he was shown a red card during the match on Thursday.

Mourinho was shown the red card just before the hour mark amid a heated dispute with the referee, which seemingly included some colourful language, after Fenerbahce were denied an appeal for a penalty.

Gedson Fernandes scored the only goal as Besiktas beat Lyon 1-0 in France.

Tottenham Hotspur also defeated AZ Alkmaar 1-0.
