NSC takes over as Tinubu scraps Ministry of Sports
President Bola Tinubu has scrapped the Ministry of Sports and replaced it with the National Sports Commission (NSC).
This is the outcome of the Federal Executive Council meeting on Wednesday.
The fate of Sports Minister, John Owan Enoh, is not disclosed.
The announcement was made by Bayo Onanuga, spokesman to the president.
It is not just the Ministry of Sports that has been affected as the president also reshuffles regional-based ministry.
Also scrapped is the Niger Delta Ministry. Replacing it will be a ministry of regional development to oversee all the regional development commissions, such as Niger Delta Development Commission, North West Development Commission, South West Development Commission, North East Development Commission.
The Federal Executive Council also approved the merger of the Ministry of Tourism with the Ministry of Culture and Creative Economy.
