PDP Crisis: Bala Mohammed’s group seeks order for NEC meeting

The faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) led by Bauchi Governor Bala Mohammed has initiated legal proceedings at the Zamfara High Court, seeking an ex parte order to convene the party’s National Executive Council (NEC) meeting.

This legal action comes in defiance of a Federal High Court ruling in Abuja that prohibits the PDP from removing its acting national chairman, Amb Umar Damagum. The Bala Mohammed-led group is pushing to move forward with party operations despite this judicial restriction, highlighting the deepening rift within the PDP.

The outcome of this suit could have significant implications for the party’s leadership structure and internal dynamics as it continues to navigate ongoing challenges. The faction’s desire to hold the NEC meeting underscores its commitment to asserting control over party affairs amid the current turmoil.
