PDP NWC faction suspends National Chairman Damagum, Secretary
A faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Working Committee (NWC) suspends acting National Chairman, Umar Damagum and National Secretary Samuel, Anyanwu for alleged disloyalty to the party.
This decision follows a recent suspension by a faction aligned with Damagum, which ousts National Legal Adviser, Kamaldeen Ajibade and National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, for similar accusations.
In a statement released on Friday, Ologunagba announces the suspensions, detailing complaints against Damagum and Anyanwu regarding their involvement in a letter addressed to the Court of Appeal.

This letter pertains to Appeal No: CA/PH/307/2024, related to the party’s position in a case involving 27 former members of the Rivers State House of Assembly, who vacated their seats upon leaving the PDP for the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The NWC condemns the actions of Damagum and Anyanwu as anti-party activities that violate the PDP Constitution and their Oath of Office.
Consequently, the NWC, referencing Sections 57, 58, and 59 of the PDP Constitution, officially suspends both officials and refers them to the National Disciplinary Committee for further investigation.
As part of their suspension, Damagum and Anyanwu are barred from all NWC meetings, activities, and programs while the disciplinary process unfolds.
