Rep. Alex Ikwechegh apologizes for assaulting cab driver
Alex Ikwechegh, a member of the House of Representatives, has publicly apologized after a video emerged of him assaulting a Bolt driver.
The incident took place at his residence in Abuja when the driver delivered a package. Ikwechegh acknowledged that his actions were unacceptable for a public official, expressing regret for the harm inflicted on the driver and the embarrassment caused to his constituents.

In his apology, Ikwechegh stated, “My behavior fell short of the standards expected of me,” and pledged to fully cooperate with the ongoing police investigation. He also announced plans to seek professional counseling and participate in community service initiatives aimed at promoting respect and understanding.
The video, which went viral, showed Ikwechegh slapping the driver and threatening him.
