U-17WWC: Nigeria’s Flamingos wallop Ecuador 4-0, soar into knockouts

The Nigerian Flamingos secured a dominant 4-0 victory against Ecuador in a Group A clash at the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup, booking their place in the knockout stages of the tournament. This resounding win came after their 4-1 triumph over New Zealand in the opening match, ensuring their progression to the next round.

The game saw Nigeria open the scoring in the first half before adding three more goals in a commanding second-half display. Shakirat Moshood was the star of the match, scoring twice—once in the 28th minute and again deep into stoppage time in the 96th minute—to complete her brace. Harmony Chidi extended the lead with a goal in the 54th minute, while Peace Effiong added to the tally in the 66th minute, ensuring a comprehensive win for the West African team.
