Yobe lawmaker, NDE empower 150 constituents with skills training

The National Directorate of Employment (NDE) in Yobe State has empowered 150 youth and women in the Fika/Fune federal constituency.

State NDE Coordinator Hajiya Binta Aliyu announced this during a five-day training for beneficiaries held in the Fika and Fune local government areas.

She stated that the collaboration between Engr. Mohammed Buba Jajere, the House of Representatives member for the Fika and Fune federal constituency, and the NDE has resulted in the training and empowerment of 150 unemployed youth and women. Each of the five political wards in Fika and Fune LGAs benefited from five participants, who received training in life skills, employability, entrepreneurship, and financial literacy.

Binta noted that “the training and empowerment programs were sponsored by Engr. Mohammed Buba Jajere in partnership with Yobe NDE, aligning with the renewed hope agenda.”

The goal of the training was to help participants become self-employed, with the potential to employ others in the future.

The Yobe NDE coordinator urged the empowered beneficiaries to make effective use of the tools and skills they acquired for their intended purpose.

Items distributed to the 150 beneficiaries included fashion design machines, irrigation pumps, grinding machines, and more.
