Southern Kaduna: 14 communities attacked, 50 killed, 170 kidnapped, ₦700m ransom paid in 7 months

A youth group in Dokan Karji, Southern Kaduna, has called on military authorities to urgently intervene after relentless attacks by terrorists displaced 14 communities, killing at least 50 people and kidnapping 170 others.
The group’s leader, Aminu Khalid, said over ₦700 million has been paid as ransom in the past seven months, with many victims held captive for months.
Khalid described the ongoing violence as devastating, especially in Dokan Karji, the largest community in Kauru Local Government Area, which has seen significant destruction.
He appealed to the Chief of Defense Staff, General Christopher Musa, and the Federal Government to deploy military forces to end the cycle of killings and kidnappings.
“The absence of military protection has emboldened the attackers,” Khalid said, noting that the attacks have forced many to flee their homes.
He praised the Sector 7 Commander for his efforts to combat banditry in the area but stressed the need for urgent military action to restore peace.
