Woman, 2 children killed in Abuja explosion

A tragic incident has left many grieving, as a woman and her children lost their lives in a horrific accident.

Reports indicate that a bus carrying passengers suddenly caught fire along the Abuja-Lokoja highway.

An eyewitness confirmed the incident, revealing that the vehicle, registered BGT 996 LG, was transporting 18 passengers to Kogi State when it suddenly caught fire at Manderegi village, near Abaji, along the Abuja-Lokoja highway.

The witness stated that a woman and her two children were trapped in the blaze and were burned beyond recognition. Additionally, 12 other passengers sustained varying degrees of burns.

The FCT Sector Commander of the FRSC, Mr. Muta’ah Chorrie, confirmed the accident to *Daily Trust* and blamed the driver for transporting a Jerrycan filled with fuel alongside passengers.

“This is exactly what we’ve been warning against—the danger of carrying extra fuel while traveling with passengers. Despite our efforts to sensitize motorists, some stubborn drivers continue to do so,” he said.
