Yobe’s Usman shines as Ebenezer triumphs at Senive Royal chess tournament

A thrilling clash of wits unfolded at the prestigious Senive Royal Restaurant in City Park, Abuja, as Olugbenga Ebenezer Bamidele from Ekiti State claimed victory in the Royal Chess Masters Club tournament. Bamidele’s exceptional strategic skills earned him the coveted Winner’s Cup, while Usman Abdullahi Bida from Yobe State shone throughout the competition, securing the Runner-Up position after a fiercely contested final.

From the very beginning, the competition left no room for error. The single-elimination format in the preliminary rounds tested every player’s precision, as each match was critical to advancing.

Bamidele and Usman

The stakes heightened as the Final Eight entered the double-elimination phase, where players were given a second chance to prove their worth. Despite the increased pressure, it was Bamidele’s consistent focus and tactical brilliance that propelled him to the top.

 

Bamidele’s victory was a testament to his skill, while Bida’s determination and resilience throughout the tournament earned him the second-place finish, making both players worthy contenders in this exciting chess battle.

Usman Abdullahi Bida, born on the 25th August, 2006, and currently a Law student at ABU Zaria, embarking on an academic journey that promises to shape his future in the legal field.
