Bobrisky Flown to Abuja: EFCC set to interrogate crossdresser over bribery claims
Popular crossdresser and social media personality, Idris Okuneye, known as Bobrisky, was apprehended by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Thursday night.
Stopped while attempting to board an Amsterdam-bound KLM flight at Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos, Bobrisky is being transferred to Abuja for further interrogation on alleged bribery and corruption.
According to EFCC officials, Bobrisky’s detention follows his claims that he bribed EFCC personnel with N15 million to dismiss money laundering accusations.
In a recent Instagram post, Bobrisky described an altercation with immigration officers, sharing that he sustained injuries during his arrest. The EFCC, which has denied these bribery allegations, responded by forming a committee to investigate the claims.

The Commission’s Director of Public Affairs, Wilson Uwajaren, remarked that Bobrisky could face additional charges if the allegations are proven false. “Anyone making such serious accusations must be prepared to back them with evidence,” Uwajaren added, underscoring the agency’s commitment to address the matter.
Bobrisky’s recent refusal to attend National Assembly summons on this case has escalated the situation. The EFCC now intends to clarify and validate the claims through formal questioning in Abuja.
