At least 15 people have been confirmed dead in a road crash on the Funtua-Gusau road in Katsina State.
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Sector Commander, Mr Aliyu Ma’aji, verified the tragic incident through a statement issued by the Command’s Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Mr Shamsudeen Babajo, on Saturday in Katsina.
He said the accident, which occurred on Saturday, involved a Toyota Hiace bus and a truck.
Ma’aji noted that a damaged tyre on the Toyota bus led to a loss of control, resulting in a devastating head-on collision.
The crash claimed the lives of 15 people, while 13 others sustained varying degrees of injuries.
