National grid collapses for second time in three days
The national electricity grid has collapsed for the second time in three days, causing widespread blackouts across the country.
The latest outage occurred at approximately 11:30 am on Thursday, November 7, 2024, according to several electricity distribution companies.
Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC), which serves parts of Lagos, announced the disruption on X, stating: “Please be informed that we experienced a system outage today at 11:29 AM, affecting supply within our network. Restoration is underway in collaboration with our stakeholders. Kindly bear with us.”
