Pastor Bolaji denies involvement in alleged ₦1.5bn fraud

The Lead Pastor of Harvesters International Christian Center, Pastor Bolaji Idowu, has strongly denied his involvement in the recent fraud and money laundering allegations levelled against him, claiming innocence amidst the claims.

In a statement made during the “Next Level Prayers” session on Wednesday, the pastor addressed the growing social media frenzy regarding his alleged involvement in financial crimes totaling N1.5bn.

“Over the last 24 hours, there’s been a lot of news about me on social media. I just want to state some facts clearly,” Pastor Idowu said, acknowledging the intense media attention surrounding the issue.

He emphasised that he had not been involved in any fraudulent activities and assured his followers that he was cooperating fully with authorities.

Pastor Idowu’s response comes amid reports that he was arrested and is under investigation by the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) of the Nigerian Police.

The allegations have created a storm, with widespread concerns and debates across various platforms.

While Pastor Idowu maintains his innocence, sources close to the investigation have stated that the Nigerian police are thoroughly examining the claims.

In light of the controversy, Pastor Idowu has called on his congregation and supporters to remain calm and trust the legal process, as he prepares to fight these allegations through the appropriate channels.
