KACRAN calls for peace, cooperation among pastoralists, farmers
The Kullen Allah Cattle Rearers Association of Nigeria (KACRAN) has urged pastoralists and farmers across the country to foster peace and mutual respect during the ongoing harvest season.
In a press statement issued on Thursday, the association outlined key resolutions aimed at promoting harmony, lawfulness, and sustainable development.
KACRAN called on herders to exercise restraint and avoid any actions that could lead to the destruction of farmers’ crops, emphasising the importance of supporting agricultural efforts to ensure food security.
The association also appealed to pastoralists to live peacefully with host communities, stressing that mutual respect is critical for maintaining harmony between farmers and herders.
“We urge all members to conduct their activities in a peaceful manner, ensuring that their actions contribute to harmony rather than conflict,” said Hon. Khalil Muh’d Bello, National President of KACRAN.

Highlighting the need for law-abiding behaviour, KACRAN encouraged its members to cooperate with government authorities and security agencies to enhance national unity and safety.
The association commended the efforts of Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni for his inclusive peace initiatives. His engagement with stakeholders, including pastoralist leaders, security operatives, local government officials, and traditional rulers, was described as a model for addressing farmer-herder conflicts.
KACRAN also praised the North East Development Commission (NEDC) for its interventions, including the provision of water points for pastoralists, distribution of palliatives, and enhancement of regional security.
The association further acknowledged the Yobe State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) under the leadership of Dr. Mohammed Goje for supporting herders with animal feed and other assistance.
KACRAN extended gratitude to local government chairmen, emirs, and security operatives in Yobe State for their unwavering support of the association’s peace sensitisation campaigns.
Expressing appreciation for Governor Buni’s leadership, the association lauded his dedication to fostering unity and sustainable development in Yobe State.
“KACRAN remains committed to building a peaceful and prosperous Nigeria,” Hon. Bello concluded.
The association reaffirmed its resolve to work collaboratively with all stakeholders to achieve harmony and progress in the nation.
