Wike remains PDP’s main problem but still living in fear of Atiku – Ex-VP’s aide Fabiyi
Oladimeji Fabiyi, an associate of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has swiftly reacted to some claims made by Lere Olayinka, a media aide of FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, regarding the best way to restore peace in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
During an interview with The Punch, Mr Olayinka alleged that it is only when Atiku denounced his presidential ambition that the PDP could enjoy peace.
Fabiyi, in his reactions, said contrary to the falsehoods being propagated by Lere Olayinka, it is obvious to every Nigerian and indeed the faithful party members that the only man who has been the major problem of the PDP is Minister Wike.
“We all are witnesses to his destructive roles and behaviour in the local politics of Rivers State where the former governor has been a pain in the neck of the government and the state in general.
“We have also seen his negative energies being dissipated at the national level, he has constituted himself to be lord, using the gullible acting National Chairman of the party, Amb. Damagun and a few other recalcitrant NWC members destabilise the party.

“Let me remind Lere and his errand master that Atiku remains the toast and darling of Nigerians and PDP members home and abroad, they know his antecedents and the capabilities and capacity he carries to lead Nigeria. They appreciated his efforts to see that orders were reset.
“The PDP as a party has been so kind to Wike and his gangs while Atiku made concerted efforts to build the party with other like minds, Wike uses his resources with his likes to destroy the party, the difference is very clear. If the current position of the party was what it was in the past, Wike and none of his gangs would have joined the PDP.
“The party hasn’t done to Wike one-tenth of what was done to Atiku before he threw caution into the wind and began to malign and disrespect the party.
“To educate Lere Olayinka and his errand masters, if there is anyone that must be sanctioned heavily, it is Nyesom Wike, Fayose and the rest of the rebels. If Wike was man enough, he should have been fighting from the outside like Atiku did, but he wasn’t man enough to do so, meaning Wike is a coward. He shouldn’t have been hiding under the cover of the ruling APC.
“The records are there but let me ask Wike and Lere, has anyone deregistered Wike from the party at any point in time? Has anyone, even as a governor, former governor or minister of PDP/APC stopped him from attending any of the party’s statutory meetings? Has Wike ever been disrespected by the leadership of the party at the National Convention ground? The answers are all NO.
“Atiku experienced humiliation in the party he helped formed, as a sitting Vice President, he was de-registered by the party, he was never invited to NEC meetings and National Convention even as a critical stakeholder, and former Vice President still in the party, he was disrespected by the party.
“The question is, has Wike experienced this quantum of disrespect and humiliation before he began to misbehave and resolved with his team to work for Tinubu and destroy his party?
“Lere should be sensible enough to remember that what comes around goes around, it is not Wike’s call to tell Atiku not to contest. Atiku has never been the problem of the party but Wike is.
“It is therefore ridiculous and senseless for Wike to allege and assert that it is only when Atiku denounce his presidential ambition that peace can return to the party. The call is an indication that Wike is in a serious panic mood and has no solution to Atiku’s continued towering stature and image,” Fabiyi concluded.
