The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has again increased the gantry price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol, to ₦1,175 per litre, marking another upward adjustment in fuel pricing.
The latest review represents the third increase in petrol prices within seven days.
The new price was communicated to petroleum marketers and depot operators on Monday, rising sharply from ₦995 per litre, which had been announced last Friday.
The ₦180 increase per litre represents an 18.1 per cent rise within three days, heightening concerns among marketers and consumers about a likely increase in pump prices at filling stations nationwide.
Industry operators warn that the development could further drive up the cost of transportation and goods, adding to the pressure on households already grappling with high inflation.
