3 policemen dismissed over murder of Kwara Poly student
Three policemen involved in the alleged murder of Kwara State Polytechnic student Abdulqoyyum Abdulyekeen Ishola have been dismissed from the force.
The officers, who were transferred to Abuja for an investigation, were accused of killing the student on September 4, 2024, in Ilorin.
The Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, ordered the case to be handled in Abuja to ensure a proper probe, while the Polytechnic’s management and students demanded justice.
Kwara’s police commissioner, Victor Olaiya, pledged a thorough investigation.

However, the state police PRO, DSP Ejire Adeyemi Toun, said she had not yet received official confirmation of the officers’ dismissal.
