About five persons have been reported dead in a building collapse incident in Aba, the commercial city of Abia State.
Eyewitnesses said the incident happened in the early hours of Wednesday after heavy rainfall on Tuesday.
One person, who was rescued from the collapse is receiving treatment in an undisclosed hospital.
Reports gathered that the deceased and survivor were homeless residents that usually take shelter in the building still undergoing construction at night.
The cause of the collapse has been attributed to the use of substandard materials by the contractor.
