52-year-old man slumps, dies in Abuja Mosque Story from Hamzat Ibrahim
Salihu Byezhe, a 52-year-old man, has died after collapsing during Subhi prayers at Gudaba village in Kuje Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
A resident, Musa Dantani, said the incident occurred on Thursday morning when Byezhe went to observe the early morning prayers at the community mosque.
He explained that after eating Sahur, the deceased performed ablution and proceeded to the mosque for prayers, where he suddenly slumped, Daily Trust reports.
“As the prayers were going on, he suddenly slumped, and some Muslims inside the mosque quickly held him and conveyed him to the hospital.

He was still breathing on the way to the hospital, but unfortunately, he gave up on arriving at the hospital,” Dantani said.
The doctor on duty confirmed Byezhe’s death and attributed it to high blood pressure. Dantani added that one of the deceased’s sons was also present in the mosque when the incident happened and accompanied them to the hospital.
Our reporter learnt that Byezhe was a high blood pressure patient, and his BP spiked during the prayers.
His remains were buried at 10:12 am on Thursday according to Islamic rites.
