56-year-old grandma gives birth to twins for 39-year-old Nigerian husband

In a heartwarming and unconventional love story, 56-year-old Angela Peters, an Australian mother of five and grandmother of 12, has given birth to twin girls, Khorus and Knowyn, with her 39-year-old Nigerian husband, Bright.

The couple’s whirlwind romance and IVF journey have captured the hearts of many.

Angela described the moment she revealed the twins’ gender as pure joy, saying, “I may have been 56 years old… but I’d never been happier.” The couple’s love story began in 2020 when Angela joined a dating site and connected with Bright’s brother, Emeka.

However, it was Bright who caught her attention, and they eventually met in person in Nigeria in February 2021.

Despite a 17-year age gap and initial skepticism from Angela’s children, the couple married in a small civil ceremony just nine days after meeting. Angela’s journey to motherhood again was not without its challenges, including perimenopause and criticism online about her age.

However, she remained determined to make Bright’s dream of having twin girls a reality.

With donor eggs and Bright’s sperm, Angela underwent IVF and gave birth to the twins in August 2024. She described the experience as her easiest pregnancy yet and praised her body’s ability to care for the newborns.

Angela’s daughter, Deina, 28, initially had concerns about Bright’s intentions but now marvels at her mother’s ability to care for the twins.

Angela hopes her story inspires others, saying, “To those who dream of motherhood later in life, don’t lose hope.
My journey took me across continents, but it’s led me to this beautiful moment. Now, both my hands and my heart are full.”
