A 65-year-old man, Samuel Darisa, was arrested by the Operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) for allegedly defiling a 10-year-old girl at the Agba Dam area, GRA, Ilorin, Kwara State.
Babawale Afolabi, the Kwara state NSCDC spokesperson, told journalists that they got tipped by a concerned neighbour who allegedly caught them in the act, and made the arrest.
Afolabi stated that the suspect, who works as a security guard, confessed to having committed the crime, saying it was consensual.
“The man, however, stated that the minor consented to the affair since it was not only one time he had carnal knowledge of the minor,” he said.
He further added that the suspect would be charged after the completion of investigations.
