9 people confirmed dead, 3 rescued as car plunges into Kano dam

Nine people have been confirmed dead, three rescued, and one missing as a Golf wagon on Saturday plunged into Fada Dam along Kano-Katsina road in Gwarzo LGA of Kano State.
Confirming the incident, spokesman of the Kano State Fire Service, Saminu Yusuf Abdullahi, said the service received an emergency call from one Ali Mai Faci at about 6 pm that a Golf wagon coming from the Kano axis and heading to Katsina fell inside a dam.
He said: “Our men and fishermen rescued three persons alive, while nine unconscious victims were conveyed to the Gwarzo General Hospital and doctors confirmed the nine dead on arrival.
“We will continue searching as one victim has not been found.”
