Bogoro Council chairman, STF Commander stress importance of peace, unity

The Chairman of Bogoro Local Government Area (LGA), Bauchi State, Iliya Habila and the newly Special Task Force (STF) Commander, Major KC Ogbonna, has stressed that peace and peacebuilding are very necessary for ensuring that there is a mutual co-existence, self-actualisation and development in the area.

They stated this on Monday, 14 February 2022 in Bogoro when the newly posted STF commander to Tafawa Balewa paid a courtesy visit to the Chairman of Bogoro LGA.

Receiving the Commander, Iliya said, “The attainment of the progress of any nation or community is largely dependent on the harmonious relationship existing between people of different backgrounds irrespective of ethnoreligious and political differences. I want to remind you that there is no way a people or nation can progress economically or otherwise without peace.”

He said Bogoro is the most peaceful local government in Bauchi State and pledged to support the Commander in the sustenance of peace and peacebuilding so that development can be made.

STF Commander Ogbonna said he was posted to the area to contribute to the sustenance of peace and to seek more cooperation from all stakeholders in the area in order to succeed.

Ogbonna pledged to respond to anything on security within five minutes in order to address it and urged the community to help them with useful information that will help them to ensure the security of lives and properties in the area.

In a vote of thanks, the Village Head of Bogoro, Mr Nuhu Tafida, assured the newly posted Commander and the Council Chairman that traditional rulers and community leaders in the area will work in synergy with them to achieve sustainable peace.
