The government made this known through the Commissioner of Information and Strategy, Mr Gbenga Omotso, on Saturday via its official Twitter account in a series of tweets monitored by Neptune Prime.

It is believed that the celebrant was being generous to guests by giving out the souvenir to ease the burden of the current fuel price hike in the state and other parts of the country.

“There is no doubt that this action is dangerous and can lead to the loss of lives and property.  It is blatantly against all safety measures in such places.

“The Lagos State Government, through the Safety Commission, is investigating this matter and will ensure that all parties to this reprehensible action are made to account for it.

“The safety of lives and property of Lagosians and visitors remains a top priority to the Governor @jidesanwoolu administration. We, therefore, advise that actions that can lead to the loss of lives and property be avoided.”

Meanwhile, the state government has sealed the event centre where the party took place.
