PMB condemns killing of 63 vigilante men in Kebbi, challenges security agencies to double efforts

Story from Saleh INUWA, Kano

President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed his profound sadness over the killing of 63 vigilante members by terrorists in Zuru, Kebbi State, and called on our security forces to sit up and be on top of the situation.

He described the brutal murder of tens of vigilante members in Kebbi State by bandits who ambushed them in the Sakaba/Wassagu Local Government Area as very unfortunate and painful.

According to him, in a statement issued by his spokesperson, Malam Garba Shehu, “this egregious level of criminality is shocking and I want to assure you Nigerians that I will do all it takes to tackle this monster decisively”.

My greatest preoccupation is the threat to life posed by these murderous gangs and remorseless outlaws who have no slightest regard for the sanctity of life. While extending my sympathy to the families of the victims of this criminal act let me use this opportunity to challenge our security agencies to sit up and double their efforts.

At least 63 vigilantes from 5 communities of Kebbi State have been confirmed dead while chasing bandits.
