Chairman Damaturu Local Government Area (LGA) of Yobe State Alhaji Bukar Adamu, has said his administration constructed a multipurpose town hall and renovated other projects.
Adamu who stated this while briefing newsmen who visited the LGA for projects inspection on Wednesday in Damaturu disclosed that the multipurpose hall constructed within Damaturu metropolis was funded by Gov Mai Mala Buni.
He added that the hall would serve as an income generation source for the local government and as a recreation centre to alleviate trauma among the people of the state who suffered more than a decade-long insurgency.
The Chairman said he LG had also renovated the poultry and fish markets and moved the fisherman and poetry dressers to the new sites respectively to improve hygiene and generate income.

In his remarks, Chairman of Nigeria Union of Fishermen and See Food Dealers, Yobe chapter Malam Sama’ila Muhammed commended the administration of governor Buni for the gesture.
He appealed to the government to drill boreholes at the new site, saying constant and reliable water source was key to their business.
He enjoined others who were yet to migrate to the new site to do so for quick development of the market.
Chairman Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Yobe Council Mr Rajab Muhammed who also remarked said the media would continue to track the performance of political office holders in relation to their electioneering promises.
