Sallah Celebration: Yobe Police Command felicitates with Muslims, tasks all on security

The Yobe State Police Command has congratulated Muslim Ummah in the state for the successful completion of fasting during the sacred month of Ramadan as it wishes all Eid Mubarak.
As the celebrations commence, the command also enjoins all stakeholders in the state to put their hands on deck in maintaining security.
According to a statement from the command, members of NURTW, Keke Napep Association, Traders Association, Market Association, JNI, CAN, Civil Society Organisations and other members of the public were equally enjoined to remain vigilant ahead of the Sallah celebrations by supporting all the security measures put in place to safe guard lives and property.
The Command condemns the recent bomb attacks in Gashua and Geidam, adding that investigation had commenced to unravel possible plans of carrying out similar attacks elsewhere in the state.
“In addition, security measures have been put in place to ensure vulnerable places are secured as members of the communities are advised to contribute by providing useful and credible information to security operatives nearest to them,” the statement read in part.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, CP Haruna G. Garba, reiterates his commitment in the fight against crimes and criminality in the state and urged all and sundry to be security conscious, vigilant and report all suspicious movements, persons, objects or gatherings to the nearest police station/formation, assuring of quick and timely response.
“If you see something, say something,” he advised.
