13 Nigerian police officers get elevated to SP in Gombe

About 13 Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSPs) from the Gombe State Command have been promoted to the ranks of Superintendent of Police (SPs).
Commissioner of Police (CP) in charge of the command, Ishola Babaita, who decorated the newly elevated officers at the police officers’ mess explained that the force promoted the deserving officers based on their outstanding performance and dedication to duty.
He revealed that in recent times, 50 inspectors got a promotion to the ranks of Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASPs) while 20 ASPs were uplifted to DSPs respectively.
Babaita charged the newly decorated Superintendent of Police to reciprocate the gesture by behaving in a more mature and disciplined manner pointing out that they are now superior police officers.
The CP while thanking the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Usman Baba Alkali for the frequent and regular promotions of deserving officers, said the state police command would continue to put in good policing strategies to address criminality in the state.
