Security operatives in Kaduna State have arrested an ex-soldier, Sa’id Lawal, traveling with arms and ammunition on the Abuja-Kaduna Express Road.

41-year-old Lawal was arrested on his way to Zamfara to deliver two rifles and an undisclosed number of live ammunition.

According to him, he put the weapons in a sack and concealed them in the booth of a black Pontiac vehicle he was travelling with, while the ammunition were hidden in the spare tyre compartment.

Lawal said one Hamza Dogo, a farmer and herder from Zamfara State gave him the weapons to deliver to his brother, a man named Loko from Nasarawa State.
