Champions League: Man City trash Sevilla as Chelsea suffer shock defeat

Manchester City Tuesday night started their UEFA Champions League league on a bright note following a 4-0 victory over Spanish side, Sevilla.

City opened the scoreline courtesy Erling Haaland in the 20th minute being the only goal in the first 45.

The high classed Pep Guardiola boys who no match for Sevilla tripled the lead in the second half of the game as Phil Foden found the back of the net in the 58th minute.

Haaland having scored nine goals in five matches in the English Premier League made it three for the Citizens nine minutes later Foden’s.

Ruben Dias cemented City’s lead at the nick of time before the blast of the whistle to make it 4-0.

Elsewhere, Chelsea suffered a shock defeat from Dinamo Zagreb by a lone goal from the hosts danger-man, Mislav Orsic in the 13th being only goal that separated both sides.

Defending champions, Real Madrid outclassed Celtic with three unreplied goals.
